Professional Profile:

Dr Ashley Cooper trained at Southampton Medical School and after gaining Membership of the Royal College of Physicians, studied Dermatology in the Wessex region. During this time he undertook research and published in the field of hormonal control of skin pigmentation and allergic responses. He gained entry to the General Medical Council Specialist Register in 2006 and is now practicing as a Consultant Dermatologist in East Kent, and works for the NHS at the William Harvey Hospital, Ashford and Kent and Canterbury Hospital in Canterbury. He does private clinics in Canterbury and Hythe. He is a General Dermatologist who diagnoses and treats all forms of skin disease but has a special interest in skin cancer, and advanced cutaneous surgery. He is one of only two Dermatologists in Kent with expertise in Mohs Micrographic Surgery (the other is Dr. Catriona Irvine, a friend and colleague). He undertakes some cosmetic work ranging from Botox for wrinkles and reduction of excessive sweating to sclerotherapy for thread vein treatment. He belongs to the British Society of Dermatologic Surgeons,the British Association of Dermatologists, and the British Cosmetic Dermatology Group.
